And ‘Toddlers step up’…
The morning Montessori 3- 6 Program is open to those students who are currently enrolled in this program at GMS and newly enrolled 3-6 students for 2008-2009 academic year. The 3-6 curriculum will be a continuity of the school year. It will be staffed by certified Montessori teachers and trained Montessori assistants.
The ‘Toddlers step up’ program is open to current and incoming toddlers who will be enrolling in the 3-6 Program in the Fall. Toddlers must be fully toilet trained by the beginning of the academic school year. The ‘Toddlers step up’ summer program will facilitate transition in the Fall. These children will begin to develop a sense of security and independence as they have added time to adjust comfortably to their new surroundings.
The children in the ‘Toddlers step up’ summer program will join the other toddlers in the afternoon ‘Toddler CampAmigos’
The ‘Camp Amigos’ program will emphasize conversational Spanish through the entire camp.
‘Afternoons Camp Amigos’…
The older 3-6 students will participate in the morning Montessori 3-6 program. All campers will participate in the ‘Camp Amigos’ program in the afternoons. These students will be exposed to foreign languages, countries, food, art, song and dance and more. They will explore different cultures that foster global awareness and tolerance in keeping with our Montessori philosophy. We are excited about this program and know it will be a memorable experience for these children.
GMS Camp is offered to students who are enrolled at GMS for the 2007-2008 school year. In some instances, GMS accepts students from other Schools that do not offer a Summer Montessori Program.
‘Toddler Camp’...
The morning/afternoon ‘Toddler Camp’ is open to all students, ages
18 months - 3 years old. They will participate in age-appropriate camp activities under the supervision of experienced camp personnel. They will have scheduled
‘water splash days’ and scheduled ‘hi-lite’ guests for enrichment activities. A typical day will involve both indoor and outdoor opportunities for interactive and quiet play that exercise and develop coordination and enhance socialization skills. They will participate in reflective and imaginative play through music, drama, art and story telling. They will engage in teacher directed and self- directed activities that enhance thinking and concentration through puzzles, games and manipulatives. They do not have to be potty trained and do nap after lunch.

Important Information
- Parents need to label all their children’s belongings. We can not be responsible for lost or misplaced items.
- For early arrivals, children may not have breakfast after 8:00am.
- All children will have a mid-morning healthy snack of juice and crackers.
- There will be no hot lunch service so please pack a paper bag lunch that can be served at room temperature. Every Friday, the school will provide lunch for the children.
Children need to bring:
- Back pack that holds everything
- Bathing suit
- Sun screen lotion
- Towel, change of clothing, including underwear and water shoes
- Plastic bag for wet/soiled items
- Wet Wipes, box
- Purell, antibacterial, bottle
- Pull ups /plastic bags, if needed
Everything:
- Needs to be labeled with child’s name, including back pack on the outside.
- Needs to fit in backpack.
- Paper bag lunches only.
Health Forms/Emergency Contacts need to be current or updated.
Extended Care is included in the fees, no later than 5:30 pm.
Additional overage will cost $5.00/minute and will be added to your bill.
